Leaving a gift to Self Help Africa in your will means a better life for African families – it will help them to work their way out of poverty, forever.
Remembering Self Help Africa in your will is one of the most rewarding and long-lasting gifts that you can give. Your gift, however large or small, can make a real difference to our work across Africa.
We could train more people to grow enough food to feed their families or help them find an alternative way to earn a living so they don’t just rely on the land for food. More families will be able to provide their children with an education and other basic necessities.
Leaving a gift to Self Help Africa
A residuary gift is the best way to help us in our work – making a gift of whatever is left over after all your other dependents have been provided for.
A pecuniary gift is a sum of money or item specifically left for Self Help Africa. If you would like to leave a gift for our work, please get in touch.

A legacy is a great way to continue supporting the causes that are important to you. A gift in the will of supporter Pamela Ings enabled us to start two new projects in Zambia's Eastern Province helping people find alternative ways to earn a living through beekeeping and sunflower production.
People like Hilda Nyrongo (pictured left) benefitted from Pamela's generosity. She grew sunflower seeds and pressed them to make 60 bottles of oil which she sold.
The money was used to send three of her children to school and pay for people to help work her land. This year she hopes to sell 200 bottles
Where your money will go......
Make hunger history
£1000 could make poverty history for a whole community by providing seeds, training, equipment or animals to help every family on the path to self-reliance.
Clean water
£4000 would build a well and provide water for 300 people
Pilot project
£5000 would be enough to start another pilot project for a year, such as those in Burkina Faso. It would benefit hundreds of people and allow us to seek government and EU funding to expand our work
Major project
£100,000 will fund another major project such as that in Zambia’s Eastern Province for a year, supporting up to 10,000 people.
